Welcome to Wilford Church Community

Wilford Church is a fellowship of people [part of the wider family of the Church of England] that meets and worships and prays together in Wilford, Nottingham. More than 300 people of all ages consider themselves part of our Wilford Church Family.

The church's formal name is St Wilfrids and it has a parish area that covers Wilford, Silverdale and a large part of the Compton Acres estate.

Although we meet in an ancient church building, our worship and life has a contemporary and relevant flavour that seeks to remain faithful to the Christian Faith as given through the Bible.

We are committed to being involved with our local community, especially our two Church of England Schools [Primary and Secondary].

Here are some brief points about Church Activities

We meet on Sundays at the following times:

8.00 a.m. Holy Communion [traditional].

10.30 a.m. Our Main morning service which is family friendly, contemporary and informal

6.30 p.m. Service allows more time for reflection and quiet

The Zone Sunday Club meets during the 10.30 am service. We have approximately 60 children [aged 3-14] involved in The Zone.

We have a dynamic choir and several music/worship groups who take turns to lead our worship.

There is a youth club for church young people on Friday evenings.

Many of our Church Family meet in groups during the week. There are a variety of house groups, a regular Men's fellowship Breakfast, a ladies daytime Bible Study Group and two youth house groups. There are at present some 120 people involved in small groups including 40 young people.

We'd be delighted if you'd help with our finances!

We offer a mentoring programme giving people of all ages an opportunity to share in ministry and develop there gifts in partnership with others who have a little more experience.
