The Course

What is Pilgrim?

Pilgrim is a new teaching and discipleship resource. It aims to help every  create a place where people can explore the Christian faith together and see how it can be lived out each day.

Pilgrim takes a different approach to other Christian programmes. It approaches the great issues of faith not through persuasion, but participation in a pattern of contemplation and discussion with a group of fellow travellers.

What do others say about Pilgrim?

PILGRIM my overview of the past 6 weeks (by Abbie)

Here's my little overview of pilgrim and how I felt about it. I hope this can be of some help to you.

As someone who doesn't go to church or follow religion I decided to go to pilgrim to gain an understanding of other people's thoughts, opinions and beliefs as that is something I find really interesting and I'm always up for new experiences.

I was a little nervous at first about coming due to not being a Christian and I think I was the youngest there.(also not knowing anyone really) I was a bit out of my comfort Zone, and was also worried people who had been Christians for a long time would be offended by my questions (I didn't wish to cause any offence by asking them but really only to gain s knowledge and understanding)

However I had nothing to worry about as everyone was so friendly and kind and it seems some people, including Christians had more questions and opinions than me! Which was nice to know as it made me feel I wasn't silly for asking questions or having an opinion in discussion I could say how I really felt.

I really liked how I could relate the different sections of the book back to real life and myself as it made understanding 'stories, verses, passages' ( sorry I don't know what you would call them) easy to understand and look at and helped me reflect on a few of my own life choices.

I loved the fact as a group we could talk and discuss ( I am a big fan of talking) I really enjoyed this side of pilgrim and hearing others people's view and opinions.

I have told several friends who would also like to come along next time there is a course or something like pilgrim happening.

Overall I really enjoyed the course and all the friendly , happy, smiley, easy going people who made me feel welcome, it was nice to feel a sense of welcomeness within a church community.

I would love to come to other things like this with church.

Well, you can! Anyone is welcome to come along and explore faith alongside other explorers as well, all are welcome, regardless of what you bleive or how many questions you've got. In fact questions are encouraged. all thats needed is an openness to explore with others, so why not come along and give it a go?
